Last Saturday, HBA members and staff participated in the Home Builders Foundation’s Painting a Better Tomorrow event. A total of 76 volunteers worked together to paint five shelter facilities across the Portland area. Volunteer teams spent the day painting Catholic Charities’ Esperanza Court and Kateria Park, an apartment-style refugee housing facility, Raphael House, a domestic violence shelter, Transition Projects’ Willamette Center, a 120 bed emergency shelter, and Homeplate Youth Services, a drop-in center for 12-24 year olds. Big thanks to sponsors Miller Paint and Rodda Paint who supplied paint. In addition to Miller and Rodda, Corbin Painting, Dream Weaver Painting, SISU Painting, Don Rhyne Painting, Veenhuizen Painting Specialists managed project sites. The Oregonian, Lakeside Lumber, Washington Federal, and M&G Investments all organized and lead volunteer teams. Previous Article
