The Gresham City Council recently approved the extension of the City's Innovative Housing Ordinance, effectively allowing for missing middle housing options by maintaining code flexibility and alternatives for the development of needed housing. This decision to extend, rather than fully adopt, the innovative housing policy, stemmed from previous City Council and Planning Commission discussions that raised concerns about effectively aligning the City with state efforts to promote missing middle housing. The HBA supports this policy extension and will continue to work with the City and the East Metro Economic Alliance to identify existing barriers to the production of new housing.
