Roseann Johnson, HBA Assistant Director of Government Affairs, moderated a panel discussion on the City of Portland’s Residential Infill Project (RIP). The panel discussion included perspectives from Joe Zehnder, Chief Planner for the Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Jeff Bachrach, a member of the Portland Planning and Sustainability Commission, and Justin Wood, a residential infill builder in Portland and co-owner of Fish Construction NW. The panel covered the RIP’s multiyear history as well as several recent changes to the proposal. The RIP would provide opportunities for new housing types in the City, rezone historically skinny lots, encourage lower-priced entry-level and affordable housing, and address the need for additional housing options.
