The HBA’s Political Action Committee (PAC), Oregonians for Affordable Housing, supports industry friendly candidates and measures locally and at the state level. Our PAC Houses play a critical role in supporting these efforts. PAC Houses are built by HBA builder-member volunteers, and all proceeds from the sale of homes are contributed to the PAC. The 2018 PAC House, built by Stafford Homes & Land, generated $57,000 for the last election cycle. Prior to 2018, Fish Construction NW built eight homes, generating hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the HBA’s political engagement efforts. Thanks to their support, the HBA now has the resources to support lot acquisition and construction of a PAC House every year. The HBA Government Affairs and Political Action Committees are seeking lots, builders, subcontractors and suppliers to build the 2019 and 2020 PAC Houses, as well as future-year commitments. The HBA can provide up to $250,000 in financing for lot and construction costs and builders receive 2% of the sale price to cover administrative expenses.
