The City of Portland Development Advisory Committee (DRAC) is a citizen advisory board, representing those with interest in the outcome of policies, budgets, regulations and procedures that affect development review processes. DRAC meets monthly, and the HBA encourages involvement and attendance with the committee and its meetings. DRAC consists of seventeen members, and there are two positions which are currently vacant. The purpose of DRAC is to foster a timely, predictable and accountable development review process that implements the City’s goals for land use, transportation, housing, economic development, neighborhood livability and the environment. The Committee advocates for and supports consistent and fair application and implementation of regulations. Members are appointed by the Commissioner in Charge and confirmed by the City Council, and are elected to provide representation of those persons concerned about planning, design and development. Two DRAC positions are currently vacant, representing ‘City-wide Neighborhood Interests’ and ‘Minority Construction Contractors & Development Professionals’.
