2019 Housing Forecast will take place this Friday, November 2

The HBA will host its annual Housing Forecast on Friday, November 2 at the Oregon Convention Center. This year’s Housing Forecast will feature Metro Council President-elect Lynn Peterson, National Association of Home Builders Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz, and Oregon Office of Economic Analysis Economist Josh Lehner. This signature event for the HBA is SOLD OUT with more than 500 attendees from the industry and numerous government officials and staff.

The Housing Forecast is an annual event where the HBA provides diverse discussion and insight on issues impacting housing and the economics of housing with key elected leadership, industry leadership, and state and national economists. This year, Metro Council President-Elect Lynn Peterson will be the keynote speaker. Lynn Peterson has been recognized as a problem solver and national expert in land use and transportation over the last 30 years. She has served as CEO of the Washington State Department of Transportation, Senior Transportation and Sustainability Policy Advisor to Governor Kitzhaber, and Chair of the Clackamas County Commission and on the Lake Oswego City Council.

In addition to President-Elect Peterson, the 2019 Housing Forecast will feature insight and analysis from NAHB Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz and Oregon Office of Economic Analysis Economist Josh Lehner. Dr. Dietz is responsible for housing market analysis, economic forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research at NAHB. Josh Lehner develops the quarterly Oregon Economic forecast, including outlooks for employment, income and housing. They will discuss what 2019 holds for the housing market and our industry, including economic and building issues, as well as trends and predictions related to different market segments such as multi-family, single-family, infill and remodeling.

While the event is sold out, the HBA will provide a full recap of the program and topics discussed in the next edition of the Industry + Issues newsletter.
