One of the primary ways to impact policy at the local level is to serve on a planning commission. The HBA encourages business and industry-friendly Oregon City residents to apply for the City's Planning Commission, and help advance pro-housing policies. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to serve as an advisory body to, and a resource for, the City Commission on land use matters. Currently, the Planning Commission is holding public hearings for the Beavercreek Road Concept Plan zoning designations. The Planning Commission is comprised of seven members, who each serve four-year terms and are appointed by the Mayor. The city will recruit for the open position until filled.
