As we previously discussed in this newsletter, planning commissions serve as some of the most important jurisdictional bodies for housing and land use issues. A pro-housing planning commission can help shape the way a municipality views development and construction while, an anti-housing commission can dramatically restrict new housing. Given the importance of these commissions to our industry’s livelihood, HBA is extremely grateful that Craig Schuck has stepped up to serve his community on the Tigard Planning Commission. Craig, the Vice President of Riverside Homes, has lived with his wife in Tigard for over seven years and have four grown children living in the Northwest. Not only is Craig a builder, but he is dedicated to helping others and serves on a non-profit board for an organizations that provides chaplain services to those in assisted living facilities. We are thrilled that Craig will bring his land development and construction management experience to bear on the Tigard Planning Commission. HBA regularly helps support industry professionals who are interested in serving on planning commissions and design review boards.
