The HBA has been in conversations with Clackamas County staff for the past couple of months surrounding potential approaches to delaying SDC’s and implementing temporary addressing. After some brainstorming work between HBA’s Staci McIntire and Clackamas County’s Diedre Landon and Cheryl Bell, some much needed positive changes could be coming to developers and builders in the coming months as Clackamas County pushes to implement their new e-permitting system. While these conversations are very much still in the works and changes would not be in place for roughly six months or so, the HBA is grateful that Clackamas County staff is receptive to the need for improvement around these two issues and is working in collaboration with us in an effort to ensure they provide the best options to the community possible. Over the last two years, Clackamas County staff has opted not to raise traffic SDC rates even with dramatic rises in costs. This community focused approach proves they’re working with the communities’ best interest in mind in an effort to not overwhelm developers and builders alike with additional exorbitant fees.
