Government affairs staff have met with members, elected officials, and planning staff across the region to assess and provide feedback on Metro’s proposal for a UGB Exchange. The proposal was released by Metro’s COO in March of 2022 and outlines their vision for adding land into the UGB near the western portion of Tigard between SW Scholls Ferry Rd and SW Beef Bend Rd. The proposed exchange would swap underdeveloped land (yet to be determined) within Urban Growth Boundary in order to add land within Tigard’s River Terrace 2.0 planned community. While we monitor this process, we will work to ensure that policymakers are considering the perspective of the building industry and the severe housing supply shortage in our region.
