As part of a year-long process to update its Significant Natural Resources standards, Washington County Land Use and Transportation Department’s planning staff have released the draft plan and interactive map which includes an updated inventory of natural resources and habitats across the county. From these maps, the county is expected to develop future code changes and newly applied restrictions that would be placed on development, in addition to reconfiguring how codes and certain exemptions will apply to land use decisions. The County’s LUT department is asking our members and landowners to review the map and provide feedback. This is critical to ensuring that the maps are well-defined and accurate, in addition to having an SNR codebook that is flexible and doesn’t unduly hinder new development in the county. The public comment period for the new SNR Map closes tomorrow at 11:59pm! Click here to comment.
