On July 9th, Metro released its Urban Growth Report, a foundational document that provides important data and analysis for the region’s housing and employment land supply. Required by state law every six years to forecast local population growth and measure regional land capacity, this report is used to guide Metro Council’s policymaking on a host of issues, chiefly for Urban Growth Boundary decisions. Read the draft report here. Metro will be taking public comment through August 4th, after which, COO Marissa Madrigal will be making a formal recommendation to Council. HBA, in addition to a group of nearly a dozen business groups, is actively coordinating our testimony to ensure that Metro takes every step to accommodate future growth for housing and employment. If you would like to learn how to engage with HBA in submitting testimony, please reach out to our Preston Korst, our Government Affairs Director at prestonk@hbapdx.org. We need volunteers to provide testimony!
