HBA testified in favor of proposed changes to the draft development code at the City of Beaverton’s Planning Commission hearing on March 12. The proposed changes adjust Site development standards, such as floor area ratios, setbacks, building height, and density, to ensure more and larger buildings can be built in areas already designated for such development. The code changes also create new site and building development standards including: o Open space and landscaping that provide places to gather and room for nature on development sites but allow property owners different ways to meet the requirements. o Buildings to be built near the street/sidewalk. o Pedestrian connections that allow direct and accessible paths for people to access destinations on a site. o Ground-floor windows on buildings to enhance pedestrian interest A full description of the proposed changes can be found here.
