Last week, your HBA Government Affairs (GA) team delivered its annual HBA Board update covering four core pillars: policy and advocacy, community affairs, training and educational programming, and political action. The GA team highlighted key 2021 wins along with ongoing policy issues spanning into 2022 and beyond. GA Chair Garrett Stephenson with Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt reiterated the critical role of the Government Affairs Committee and department work to address housing supply and affordability issues throughout HBA’s 6-county region. Political Action Committee (PAC) Chair MacKenzie Davis with HOLT Homes wrapped up the presentation with a call to support Oregonians for Affordable Housing (OFAH) going into the highly contentious 2022 election year. HBA uses OFAH to support industry-friendly candidates and measures at the state and local level. Elections matter. Your support matters.
