For the second time at HBA's Builders Ball, members contributed $10,750 to HBA's political action committee (PAC), Oregonians for Affordable Housing (OFAH), helping strengthen HBA's housing and industry advocacy efforts. HBA uses OFAH to support building industry-friendly candidates and measures at the state and local levels. A special THANK YOU to all who contributed and especially to NW Natural for matching the first $2,500 in contributions, Brookfield Homes for their $5,000 contribution, and HBA Officer Jeremy Osterholm of Ostercraft Homes for his $1,000 contribution. At the end of the program, newly installed 2022 HBA President Andrew Tull of Toll Brothers also stepped up with a surprise $1,000 contribution! Prior to each election, HBA’s Government Affairs Committee conducts a robust candidate review process, including candidate deliberation and financial expenditures toward political races across HBA’s six-county territory. HBA’s political action is one of its four core work pillars, which also include policy & advocacy, community affairs, as well as training & educational programming on key state and local legislative issues affecting land use and construction.
