To Support Building Community and HBA Members, NW Natural Initiates Virtual Green Tag Procedures

Under existing practices, NW Natural relies on building inspectors to place “green tags” for use as a visual indication of the gas piping approval in residential projects. Under the new Building Codes Division Oregon Administrative Rule - Covid-19 Response Inspection Flexibility, inspectors may perform virtual inspections using video, photos, and email. As a result of the expected use of remote inspections in some jurisdictions, NW Natural will allow use of verbal authorization from building inspectors to create a “virtual green tag” for gas lines.
