HBA Asks Members to Offer Feedback on City of Portland’s Proposed Erosion Control Requirements

The City of Portland is updating its erosion control requirements to better manage soils and sediments on construction sites and reduce development impacts on the environment. HBA encourages you to review the proposed changes and provide feedback directly to the Bureau of Development Services. In addition to providing your comments directly to the department, you are encouraged to send them to HBA’s Director of Policy and Government Affairs Ryan Makinster, ryanm@hbapdx.org, to help inform the HBA response to the proposed changes.

An initial draft of the updated manual is now available for public review. In addition, you are welcome to review a draft of an enforcement rule and proposed updates to city code language relating to erosion and sediment control.

Public comment on the initial drafts of all three documents is open through Sunday, October 310.

In addition, the Bureau of Development Services and Bureau of Environmental Services will host a free Lunch and Learn session about the proposed updates. That online session will be held on Monday, October 11, from noon to 1 pm.

More information about updates to the City of Portland’s Erosion and Sediment Control Manual can be found here.
