The Oregon City Commission is meeting this Wednesday for the fourth of five public hearings scheduled to review the highlights of the proposed amendments to the city’s development code. The HBA staff has been tracking these updates and providing testimony on key topics throughout the process. Controversially, city staff has proposed extensive and out of place historical design standards in the Park Place and South End concept plan areas, alley access requirements and detached garages in high and medium density residential zones, expensive tree replacement standards, and weakening of lot size averaging. The HBA is working with local stakeholders to promote pro-housing amendments to the draft recommendations.
