Home Builders Association Working for Clackamas County The HBA attended the North Clackamas County Chamber State of the County Forum at the Monarch on April 14th. The event was motivating and impactful as the first in-person event for the Chamber since the pandemic started in 2020. County Commissioner’s Paul Savas, Sonya Fischer, Mark Shull, Martha Schrader, as well as Chair Tootie Smith were all in attendance and delivered key updates. Topics of discussion ranged from expanding broadband services to County homes and businesses, proposed gas moratoriums, to potential I205 tolling and affordable housing. Commissioner Sonya Fischer gave a promising update quoting 1700 affordable housing units within Clackamas County slated to be completed by 2024. The Home Builders Foundation (HBF) received recognition from Commissioner Savas during the forum for their work with Clackamas Counties’ houseless efforts to include Anisa’s Place and contributions made to the Clackamas Veteran’s Village; the HBF contributed more than $50,000 to support the addition of eleven sleeping pods to the existing 15-pod community - worthy of a round of applause.
