HBA meets with Metro Chair Lynn Peterson and Other Stakeholders to Discuss I-5 Bridge Replacement

HBA staff, along with other stakeholders including business associations, conservation groups, and transportation representatives, recently held a series of meetings to discuss I-5 bridge replacement efforts and to discuss concerns and support for the proposed project. Although HBA doesn’t take a formal position on specific recommendations, we along with many business groups continue to express the need for immediate bridge replacement with an emphasis on capacity to deal with future growth in the Portland Metro area. As the major freight and transportation North/South corridor on the west coast, I-5 and the I-5 bridge are an integral part of our region's economic growth supporting not only business, but the residential industry, specifically and our community generally.
