Advocacy Opportunities: Planning Commission Seats Opening in Washington County


There are two seats opening up on the Washington County Planning Commission. Two commissioners, Jeffrey Petrillo and HBA and Government Affairs Committee member Matt Wellner, will be rolling off the commission on January 31st, 2023, due to term-limits. District #2, which covers the northeastern portion of the county including Raleigh Hills, Rockcreek and Oak Hills neighborhoods has an opening. As does District #4, which covers the majority of the western half of the county, including Hillsboro, Gaston, Forest Grove, Cornelius, and North Plains. Serving on the commission is an excellent opportunity for experienced developers, home builders, real estate professionals, or anyone with an interest in Oregon’s land use planning system to become more involved. Commissioners help advise policy makers and elected officials as they make land use decisions that will impact the livability and built environment of the county for decades to come.
