On April 18th, HBA hosted a group of about 50 members and industry professionals for an Urban Growth Boundary Expansion Areas Update. At this meeting, HBA heard from representatives from King City (Kingston Terrace), Tigard (River Terrace 2.0), Wilsonville (Frog Pond), Beaverton (Cooper Mountain), and Clean Water Services (all of the above) to get an update on the planning progress being made in our region’s key residential growth centers. From these five jurisdiction partners, we learned about the many challenges and opportunities that have emerged since Metro’s 2018 UGB approvals, and its 2023 land exchange. HBA will continue to prioritize being engaged in the many planning efforts taking place to turn roughly 2,600 acres of newly expanded, undeveloped land into more than 15,000 new homes and thousands of jobs. A special thank you to our government-partners who presentenced including Dan Pauly and Amy Pepper of Wilsonville, Kenny Asher of Tigard, Max Carter of King City, Leigh Crabtree of Beaverton, and Chris Faulkner of Clean Water Services.
