As part of a broad based Oregon business coalition, the Oregon Home Builders Association urged the state to take action to protect and help the construction sector. In a letter to state leaders, the coalition requested a delay in the implementation of the new gross receipts corporate activity tax. Implementing the tax when there is little commercial activity is too great a burden for Oregon employers to bear during a time of crisis. Please contact your state legislators (you can find your legislators here) and request that they support our efforts to delay the corporate activity tax. We encourage you to use sample language found here. It is critical that the state take steps necessary to ensure that our employers, and our jobs, are still standing when this crisis is over.
