New Home Sales: Wednesday, May 23 Sales of new single-family homes rose by 4.0% in March to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 694,000. The total number of new homes sold over the first three months of 2018 is 10.3% ahead of its pace over the first three months of 2017. At the current sales rate, inventory is at 5.2-month supply, falling by 3.7%. Median new home sales price increased to $337,200 in March. Existing Home Sales: Thursday, May 24 Existing home sales increased by 1.1% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.60 million in March, compared to 5.54 million in February. Meanwhile, the first-time buyer share was 30% in March, up from 29% in February but down from 32% a year ago. At the current sales rate, the March unsold inventory represents a 3.6-month supply. The March median sales price for all housing types was $250,400, up 5.8% from a year ago.
