As reported in an OregonLive article, KATU and AMNW coverage, over the weekend, Portland area residents toured eight newly-constructed homes showcasing the best in sustainable building practices. The Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour, presented by Portland General Electric, Energy Trust of Oregon, Earth Advantage and Clackamas Water Environment Services, was the first of its kind put on by the HBA and its partners. Featuring high performance builders Ichijo USA, Noyes Development, and Relevant Building Company, the concept envisioned by the HBA Home Performance Council (HPC) for years was able to take shape with the help of these partners and the persistence of HPC members and HBA staff. These homes are setting the benchmark for how future homes will be built - reaching and exceeding environmental demands and buyers’ needs. These innovative builders are leading the way... advancing energy-efficient, yet comfortable, durable, sustainable and cost-competitive homes in our region. As our industry changes to address environmental, energy, and other concerns, HBA will continue to support advances in innovation and technology through educational opportunities and public outreach such as the Homes of Tomorrow Today Tour.
