A resolution to set the 2022 HOLTE sales price cap at the same level as the 2021 cap, offered by Commissioner Dan Ryan as head of the Portland Housing Bureau, was pulled from the December 15th City Council agenda after HBA and Portland Building and Urban Development Council (PBUD) members voiced their concern regarding the $412,000 price cap and the lack of notice or communication to the residential building community. This decision to hold the cap to the previous year level was made without consideration of building and material price increases. Commissioners Dan Ryan and Mingus Mapps, following through on their commitment to work with the residential building community on issues affecting the industry, are working with HBA staff and PBUD members to make sure they have an opportunity to provide input on the resolution prior to the hearing scheduled for Wednesday, December 21st.
