HBA submits testimony to Metro Council on 2018 Urban Growth Report


At a recent Metro Council meeting, the HBA submitted testimony on the 2018 Urban Growth Report (UGR), supporting the Metro COO’s recommendations to approve the expansion proposals from Beaverton, Hillsboro, Wilsonville and King City. The HBA emphasized the value of its partnership with Metro to continue to work to address the region’s housing needs.

Additionally, the HBA recognized positive the improvements to the UGR process, and offered three key areas where the process could continue to improve. These areas include providing cities with technical assistance to improve Buildable Lands Inventory assumptions, improving redevelopment assumptions to protect existing affordable housing, and a better understanding of the capture rate. Improvements in these areas will help insure more accurate information in the UGR.
