The HBA recently hosted the annual Housing Forecast, where almost 600 industry professionals and government officials gathered at the Oregon Convention Center for breakfast with insight, analysis and unique perspectives on the housing industry. The 2019 Housing Forecast featured keynote speaker Metro Council President-Elect Lynn Peterson as well as expert economists and presenters NAHB Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz and Oregon Office of Economic Analysis Economist Josh Lehner. Dr. Dietz is responsible for housing market analysis, economic forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research at NAHB. Josh Lehner develops the quarterly Oregon Economic forecast, including outlooks for employment, income and housing. The presenters discussed what 2019 holds for the housing market and our industry, including economic and building issues, as well as trends and predictions related to different market segments such as multi-family, single-family, infill and remodeling.
