The National Association of Home Builders Housing Portal provides data and polling information on the housing economy throughout the US, including the Oregon and the Portland Metro regions. Specifically, there is information on new home production, housing affordability, remodeling activity, and other economic data. The polling dives into perceptions of growth in the area, and housing availability, policy, and homeownership in Oregon. According to the data, 48 percent of Oregonians say there is a housing shortage in their community. The polling measures Oregon residents’ obstacles to purchasing a home as well as their perceived benefits to homeownership. Additionally, it notes that 49 precent of Oregonians agree that a candidate’s position on housing policies that affect pricing and availability matter.
