Last week, the HBA held its 2019 Golf Classic at the beautiful Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. The tournament, which featured 36 teams, helped raise money for the HBA’s government affairs efforts, which are instrumental to promoting housing production and affordability at local jurisdictions throughout the region. Following play, Lake Oswego Councilor LaMotte joined the HBA and discussed the importance of the homebuilding industry in the region. He underscored the importance of holistic planning and continued engagement with both decision makers at the jurisdictional level as well as community stakeholders. He also shared his experience and history in land use planning on the private and public side. As a practitioner of smart planning, Councilor LaMotte was proud of his decision to vote 'no' on the 3-Party IGA that includes an arbitrary ten year moratorium on concept planning in the Stafford urban reserve area. Councilor LaMotte is a strong supporter of the home building industry, and the HBA is proud to support his work on the Lake Oswego City Council.
