HBA Provides Testimony in Support of Hillsboro’s HPS

The Home Building Association (HBA) submitted testimony in support of Hillsboro’s 2024 Housing Production Strategy (HPS) to the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD). HBA recognized the city's comprehensive approach, which includes zoning reforms to encourage appropriate density, code cleanup projects, increased incentives, and strengthened community partnerships to support new housing production. The strategy aims to improve housing security for low-income residents, provide homeownership opportunities for households of color, and diversify housing types. HBA’s testimony was also submitted to help defend the city’s housing plans against environmental activists who attempted to derail efforts to create more housing and expand housing types by appealing and coordinating opposition to the pro-housing project. HBA strongly supports the proposed strategy and urges DLCD to approve it as presented.
